8th Scene

More obnoxious ghosts. What a curious coincidence, that was at the very top of my list of things this city needs.

If any of them are thinking of attempting to move in, they should be aware that 1) we have no more couch-space and 2) I have no qualms about having them exorcised on the spot. Today I am allowing nothing to spoil my mood. Today is a good day.

Arion, you will find a check for what I consider to be a fair rent payment left for you in the kitchen. Of course I had to deduct a considerable amount for what I have had to put up with in terms of the condition of the apartment, cleanliness and hygiene considerations, the trauma of being forced to live at close quarters with certain dead mexicans, etcetera. Georgia, I thought some fresh flowers would brighten up your room beautifully. Mason, I bought you breathmints and soap, take pity on us all and use them.

Charming and handsome, I like that in a man. Along with rich, generous, grateful, naive....

[ooc: Daisy has a job. Together with a strategically positioned reindeer, she's playing 'mary christmas' in a fur lined red teddy in the window of the city's fanciest lingerie store. You may have seen her, but she does a very good job of keeping her face hidden]

What kinds of flowers?

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Lilies and orchids, sweetie. I'm afraid I couldn't find anything in a shade of sludge to match the decor.

...My room isn't sludge-colored. And anyway, you made me switch with you!

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
I suggested you switch with me because I thought you would prefer the sludge look.

'Thank you, Daisy, for the flowers'.

If I preferred it, I would have moved there instead of my original room.

Thanks. Whatever.

You're more of a ray of sunshine than ever, I see. What can have brought on this good mood? Surely not my selflessness in spending my very first (legitimate) paycheck on you?

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's been a long day. Sorry.

I borrowed your alcohol, by the way. I'll pay you back next Friday.

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
It's quite all right, Georgia. While something is almost certain to drive me to drink before then, you're doing Mason a service in removing temptation.

The ghosts? Don't bring any more home.

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Mason's actually been surprisingly good lately. I guess he's still settling in.

I won't.

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
He's been tolerable. Then again, he is still unemployed.

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
I need to find him and two other people jobs.

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't it quaint, I'm acting, you're trying to get hopeless cases into some form of employment. How we all go back to what we're used to.

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
If it works, why change it?

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
We all have our unique little talents. Mine is more suited to Hollywood, yours to Happy Time.

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
I refuse to believe my talents are only good at Happy Time. Fuck that.

You could set up your own franchise, I'm sure there's a need of it. Be the... what was the disturbing cat lady's name again? Doris? Be the Doris, Georgia.

[identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Dolores. And a franchise in what?

[identity profile] daisydid.livejournal.com 2007-12-21 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know Georgia, whatever it was that you people offered. Happiness and crappy temp jobs.
